SME PERFORMANCE
How to measure it with Business Intelligence tools.

The complex management that has become so typical in recent years places information at the centre of management attention.  Intuition is no longer enough and decisions now need to be based on focused, timely and reliable information.
Information technology makes extremely powerful tools available to companies; tools that are able to integrate survey activities and make sure that the information collection, processing and dissemination procedure is part of a virtuous cycle that is able to product learning, knowledge and skills.

< How can smaller companies fit into this context?

< Can these new technologies be applied in this business category?

< Is it possible to construct an integrated survey system within
the SME which will be suitable to meet the knowledge needs of the
   business and its staff?

This book aims to offer an initial answer to these questions by proposing a methodology that can facilitate the creation of multidimensional data-bases and put into practice the basic operating principle of an integrated system: to collect data in the most analytical manner possible, where they are to be found first.

The theme is developed starting from the idea that integrating survey activities is not just a technical and information technology problem; it is also and above all, a question of logic and organisation.  The creation of an integrated system therefore needs to start up with the identification of a business performance measurement model, able to capture the causations between strategy and operativity.  In an attempt to give a firm foundation to the theme, the text includes numerous examples from empirical material collected during research in the field.
